Supporting Teens with Autism on Relationships (STAR) is an innovative, skill-building resource that adapts empirically based sexuality education approaches and interventions for parents of children and teens ages 10–18 who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder. The product consists of several interrelated components designed to create a cohesive and comprehensive curriculum that is flexible enough for implementation by a facilitator or completed on a self-guided basis by parents and their teens. Components include a parent curriculum with content and worksheet activities on topics related to hygiene, puberty, friendships, dating, and sex; and an interactive teen website game called Boardwalk Adventure designed to be used as a complement to the parent curriculum. The curriculum is flexible enough for implementation by a facilitator or completed on a self-guided basis by parents and their teens.
